It’s coming! Guerrilla Candy’s Launch Party

That’s right, it’s officially happening. The Guerrilla Candy Launch Party is set to take place Feb. 4 at the High Dive and I’m so happy to have four of my favorite up-and-coming local rock bands on the bill to help christen Guerrilla Candy.

Leading things off is the hard-hitting rock of My Goodness, a two-piece that’s been getting tons of love from lots of local music outlets (most notably Seattle Weekly) and is getting favorable comparisons to the Black Keys. As if one two-piece band isn’t enough, the rip-roaring guitar rock of Hobosexual, a group that was by far my favorite personal discovery of 2010, is also on the bill. Also on the bill is Hot Bodies in Motion, a band Guerrilla Candy introduced you to earlier this month. They are bound to make you shake your rump on the dance floor with their bluesy, funkified rock. Capping things off will be band that knows a thing or two about name changes (just like me), Hounds of the Wild Hunt.

Oh, and I would be remiss if I forgot to mention that hosting the show will be Guerrilla Candy’s pal Brent Amaker, aka the man who always makes the bold fashion statement that black is the new black wherever he goes. You know it’s going to be an amazing night of rock ‘n’ roll if the band that sounds like the Black Keys starts things off and the whole show is being hosted by a cowboy.

And yes, yes, I know Guerrilla Candy has been around in some form or another since way back in March of 2009 (when it was known as earcandybeat.com) and that this version of Guerrilla Candy has been live since October, but it’s a new year and the site has a bit of a new look so I figured I would use those two factors as an excuse to throw a kick ass party. So expect to read more about the show in the days leading up to Feb. 4. Hope to see you there.
