Seattle gets set to tackle SXSW with SxSeattle

First, look at that poster. Isn’t it awesome?

Second, let me tell you a bit about the show the poster is advertising.

Every year there is a contingent of local musicians who travel to Austin, Texas for the South by Southwest music industry festival. Some of these bands play in a showcase of Seattle musicians while at SXSW. For the past several years there have been sendoff/kickoff parties locally to help these musicians raise money for their journeys to the state you don’t mess with. This poster is for one of those shows.

On March 3 at the Crocodile a group of locals who are heading to Austin will be sharing a bill at the SXSW Kick-off Party and Musicians Bazaar. The Tea Cozies, State of the Artist, Wild Orchid Children and D Black are on  the bill to perform, which is about as diverse a lineup of hip-hop and rock styles that you can get in this town.

Prior to the show there will be an all-ages musician’s bazaar in the back bar at the Crocodile where all sorts of fun and unique wares will be offered for sale including baked goodies from The Young Evils, clothing and one-of-a-kind finds like books, drum lessons and a 19th Century map from Black Whales, beer cozies and merit badges from the Tea Cozies, autographed CDs & posters from D.Black and Fatal Lucciauno, a kissing booth from Campfire OK (apparently tongue costs extra) and more.

In case you’re trying to do the math at home, allow me. Cool poster + Cool show = See you at the Crocodile March 3.
