Tonight: Motopony at the High Dive

Tacoma’s Motopony have been making some noise in the local music media lately and for good reason, just give the demo of “King of Diamonds” a listen and you’ll see why there’s some buzz around this band. How much buzz? Well, enough buzz to land a record deal as the group recently signed with tinyOGRE Entertainment for the release of its upcoming full-length album due in the spring, which will hopefully bring more attention to their poppy, R&B-tinged folk rock.

If you want to see what the fuss is about you can check them out tonight at the High Dive ($6, 8 p.m.) on a bill with The Directory and Zach Fleury of Hot Bodies in Motion. If you miss tonight’s show you’ll have one more chance to see Motopony before SXSW on March 8 at Neumos ($10, 8 p.m.).
