Remember Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros?

You know, the band of shiny happy people who had the inescapable hit “Home” from the summer of 2010?

Well their leader, Alex Ebert (sorry, there is no one actually named Edward Sharpe in the band), is releasing a solo record tomorrow simply titled Alexander and you can stream the entire thing for free over at his Facebook page. You can check out the first two singles from the record, “Truth” and “A Million Years,” above and the former features a heavy dose of, wait for it … whistling. Yup, apparently Edward Sharpe Alex Ebert really likes his whistling.

Going solo isn’t the only thing Ebert has been up to lately. Late last year he released a new record with his former band Ima Robot titled Another Man’s Treasure which you can stream in full below. I haven’t given it a listen yet so I’ll reserve my snarky whistling comment until I hear the album.
