Watch: My Goodness ‘I’ve Got a Notion’

My Goodness celebrated the release of their self-titled, debut album yesterday by releasing their first music video. The clip is for the song “I’ve Got A Notion” and it’s equal parts simple and complicated.

It’s simple because when you break it down the video is really just a black and white clip of the band doing what it does best — rocking out. It’s complicated, or at least a little high-tech, because director Jon Meyer used 21 high-definition cameras placed in a circular area around the band to film the video. He then edited the footage together to create a bit of a strobed-out Matrix effect making for a very distinct and very cool visual style. Check it out above to get a first-hand look at Meyer’s style for yourself.

You can pick up the band’s album (which is one of my favorites of the year so far btw) now and your next chance to see My Goodness live will be April 27 at the Tractor ($5, 9 p.m.) with Elba and the Fox and the Law.
