Nevermind to get the deluxe reissue treatment

Nirvana’s Nevermind is turning 20 this year and to celebrate Universal Music is reissuing the album in a superdeluxe five-disc package on Sept. 20. (UPDATE: The release has been moved to Sept. 27)

The reissue will include four CDs and one DVD containing BBC sessions, unreleased material and live recordings. The DVD is expected to be a full Nirvana concert. According to Spin, the BBC sessions are likely from “four in-studio sessions recorded between 1989 and 1991. Two of those recordings, for John Peel and Mark Goodier’s radio shows, were included on the group’s 1993 rarities LP Incesticide.”

Nirvana.com was recently launched as a hub for all things Nirvana and according to the website Universal plans to have multiple events throughout the year to celebrate the anniversary of Nevermind.
