Krist Novoselic will strap on his bass one more time when the 20th anniversary of Nirvana’s Nevermind is celebrated at Experience Music Project on Sept. 20.

The museum is hosting the event “Nevermind Live in the Sky Church” which will feature Novaselic and other local musicians performing the classic album in full. Other bands scheduled to perform include: Visqueen, the Fastbacks, the Long Winters, Valis (the group fronted by former Screaming Trees bassist Van Conner), Vaporland, Ravenna Woods, Champagne Champagne, Campfire OK, TacocaT, Crypts and more.

The concert is also a benefit for Susie Tennant, a local scene veteran who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Tennant was DGC Records’ Northwest rep in the 90s and is currently working as the PR and marketing guru at Town Hall. DGC is of course the label that eventually signed Nirvana and released Nevermind.

Also happening that same night at the museum prior to the concert is a panel about the record called Nevermind: A Panel Discussion. Per EMP’s website at the panel will include stories from “behind-the-scenes players how the album was propelled to prominence in a lively a panel discussion with radio djs, programmers, and record label reps, moderated by EMP Senior Curator Jacob McMurray.”

Tickets for the concert cost $15 for EMP members and $20 for the general public. Tickets for the panel cost $5 for EMP members and $8 for the public.
