Well, that sure didn’t take long.

RNDM, one of Jeff Aments‘ many Pearl Jam side projects, released a very underrated debut album last year. It was a record yours truly dug quite a bit. According to multiple reports, the band is working on its sophomore release with all three members gathering in Seattle last weekend to work on new material.

Interview: Getting RNDM with Jeff Ament: Part 1 | Part 2

The orange-themed trio of Ament, Joseph Arthur and Richard Stuverud recorded the record in less than four days and during their Seattle debut last November several unreleased songs were in the setlist, so it isn’t a surprise that a new record is in the works. When I spoke with Ament last year he came across as very pleased with the project and happy that he was able to work outside of the big Pearl Jam machine while having fun recording and releasing a record with his friends.

There’s no word on when or if the new songs will see a release but a post on Joseph Arthur’s Facebook page reads as follows:

“In Seattle for the weekend recording the new RNDM album with Jeff Ament, and the callouses and dove to prove it!”

Also, Stuverud posted this on his Facebook page:

“back to east bay.
seattle was tops.
great recording.
being with family and friends.
not one moment taken for granted!
(lotta a love in this room, called life)”

Since Pearl Jam is still more or less out of commission, hopefully these Facebook status updates mean more music from RNDM will grace our ears sooner rather than later.
