A few videos from some great local artists debuted recently and all of them are well worth your time.
The first video comes from the best band to ever come out of Kelso, Wash. That’s right, I’m talking about those wild and crazy kids in SEACATS. The band’s new album is set for release later this year and if lead single “Wrecked” is any indication, it’s going to be a record full of great grooves and tasty licks. Check out the lucha libre madness in the video for “Wrecked” below.
The next videos comes from another Guerrilla Candy favorite, My Goodness. I’m sure you’ve heard about them because I’ve been telling you to pay attention to these guys for quite some time now. Also, the dirty-rock-blues duo helped re-launch Guerrilla Candy three years ago and they’ve been slowly building a reputation as one of the more promising live rock bands Seattle has to offer. So chances are you’ve heard about My Goodness. Watch the clips for “Cold Feet Killer” and “I’ve Got a Notion,” both songs off their debut album that have been reworked for their upcoming album (which is being produced by Rick Parashar, who worked with some small band named Pearl Jam on a little album called Ten), below. And if that’s not enough My Goodness goodness, watch the original clip for “I’ve Got a Notion,” which features 21 cameras going all-out Matrix on the band, over here.
The final video is from a band you might not know by name, but if you’ve followed the local scene for the past decade or so there’s a good you’re familiar with the band’s principal players. The group is Chaos Chaos and they are another two-piece whose members used to be known as Smoosh. Smoosh was a sister duo that used to play twee-pop when the sisters were both under the age of 14. Now they’re matured and turned their twee leaning into more of an electro-pop sound. They have released on EP and are currently recording an album to be released later this year. Here’s the video for “In This Place.”
