Timber! Music Fest announces initial lineup

The music festival lineup announcements just keep on coming

Last week I wrote about the upcoming Timber! Music Festival, a two-day event that’s being put together by the people at Artist Home, who are the same folks responsible for the extremely successful/exclusive Doe Bay fest. Today the festival revealed seven of the artists who will be performing at the inaugural event and they include the Helio Sequence, Fruit Bats, Kithkin, Lemolo, Brian John Appleby, River Giant and Ten-Speed Music. The seven artists are reportedly one-third of the festival’s complete lineup.

Based off just those seven acts it’s looking very much like a big-city version of Doe Bay. Actually, given the camping options and the lineup it’s not too far of a stretch to consider Timber! Doe Bay Fest on steroids.

Okay, so Carnation isn’t necessarily a big city (Timber! is taking place at Tolt-MacDonald Park in Carnation), but it’s in King County, which has quite a few more amenities and is more populated that Doe Bay’s locale. The artists announced so far are similar to acts that would play Doe Bay, meaning they’re local and they appeal to a roots-y, indie music fan, which is to be expected given Artist Home’s involvement. This hopefully will satisfy western Washingtonians who don’t want to take the ferry trip to Orcas Island to get to Doe Bay, or who couldn’t get tickets to Doe Bay since it always sells out so quickly.

Tickets for the festival cost $45 and go on sale March 19. Camping options begin at $20 for both night with a limited number of premium camping and RV sites available for between $200 and $400. More information can be found here.
