See Mudhoney live for free April 1 at Easy Street Records

Mudhoney will release their eight studio record, Vanishing Point, on Sub Pop records April 2. It’s a fantastic album that I’ve been listening to more or less nonstop for a few weeks now and it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite Mudhoney albums. If you’re a fan of Mudhoney you definitely won’t be disappointed and if you aren’t a fan, well, listen to the advance stream of the record over on Pitchfork and then you’ll be a fan and understand why this record is so damn good.

To celebrate the release of the album the band is performing a record release show at Neumos Saturday night ($15, 8 p.m., get tickets here) and like every Mudhoney show I’ve ever attended, it’s guaranteed to be a night of excellent loud and local rock ‘n’ roll (which is the absolute best kind of rock ‘n’ roll btw). If you can’t make it to the show Saturday, or perhaps you’re wanting a more intimate Mudhoney experience, then you’ll be happy to know the band will be performing a free in-store set at Easy Street Records on April 1. As an added bonus, if you buy the record you’ll get a free limited-edition lithograph (see above) while supplies last so be sure to get there early and pick up a copy of one of the best local rock records of the year.
