It’s no secret that we’re big fans of Pearl Jam over here at Guerrilla Candy HQ. Heck, the announcement of the band’s upcoming summer stadium tour is part of what sparked some life back into this dusty old blog.
To commemorate the upcoming tour, called The Home Shows and The Away Shows, Guerrilla Candy will be launching a Pearl Jam fan podcast cleverly called The Anywhere Shows. I know, clever title, right?
Throughout the next few months I’ll be partnering with my pal Jeremy of the hilarious Ear Goggles podcast and we will talk all things Pearl Jam with an emphasis on the upcoming U.S. summer concerts.
We’ll cover the fan culture surrounding the band, the band’s charitable causes, the band’s music and much, much more. It’s a podcast for Pearl Jam fans by Pearl Jam fans about the experience of being a Pearl Jam fan and what exactly that means, if it means anything at all, in 2018.
Each episode will also feature a guest, or guests, who have some connection to Pearl Jam and we’ll be shooting the breeze about why the band is important to them. It’s going to be a limited run of maybe six or seven episodes, depending on how lining up guests goes, celebrating an important Seattle institution.
And speaking of guests, our first guest will be longtime local radio journeyman Steve Migs. Migs, who is currently the co-host of The BJ and Migs morning show on 99.9 KISW, is a huge Pearl Jam fan. We’ll be discussing his favorite Pearl Jam memories, his interactions with the band, the perception of Pearl Jam in the rock radio business and other Pearl Jammy topics.
The first episode of The Anywhere Shows will be available here on Guerrilla Candy, iTunes and many other places where podcasts are made available later this month.
