Listen to Jack White cover Pearl Jam’s ‘Daughter’

Last week Pearl Jam wrapped up its two Safeco Field concerts, dubbed The Home Shows. The pair of concerts featured six-and-a-half hours of music, 68 songs, a reported attendance of around 100,000 and raised more than $11.5 million for homelessness charities.

During the concerts Eddie Vedder covered The White Stripes’ “We’re Going to be Friends” solo to open the first encore of the first concert. Jack White must’ve caught wind of the cover because he returned the favor by covering Pearl Jam’s “Daughter” during his concert at WaMu Theater last night.

White has a strict policy against cell phone use and cameras during his concerts so video is not available. However, one enterprising fan was able to record audio of the performance by recording the song with a phone that was sealed in a protective bag. Unfortunately, the bag makes for somewhat muffled audio, but you can take a listen to the performance above and check out Vedder’s touching White Stripes cover, which he dedicated to teachers, below.
