The newly opened Climate Pledge Arena will host its biggest event to date when Paul McCartney plays two concerts at the venue May 2 and 3.
McCartney’s “Got Back” tour kicks off May 1 with the former Beatle’s first-ever concert in Spokane. From there the 13-city tour hits Seattle for two dates. Tickets for the concerts go on sale Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. There is also a presale for the concert available through Sir Paul’s fanclub newsletter. The presale tickets are available beginning Tuesday, Feb. 22.
McCartney is no stranger to the grounds of the former KeyArena. The last time he played in Seattle he performed at KeyArena in 2016, delivering a remarkable set of nearly 40 songs. And of course prior to going solo he dropped by the then relatively new Seattle Coliseum to play two shows with John, George and Ringo in 1966.
He’s also delivered many other notable Seattle concerts including a show at The Kingdome which became part of the Wings Over America album. And while it was not The Beatles, Sir Paul did once perform at Safeco Field and during that concert he brought out the three surviving members of Nirvana to play multiple songs
