Next month Guns N’ Roses comes to Seattle to play at Climate Pledge Arena on Oct. 14, and while most of its current tour features local stars Alice in Chains as openers, earlier this week it was announced that a different Seattle artist will take the stage before Axl, Slash and Duff take the crowd down to Paradise City.
Local guitar hero Ayron Jones is opening the show. Jones, who was a mainstay in local clubs before signing to the label that helped make Taylor Swift a star, Big Machine Music, is touring behind his latest record “Chronicles of the Kid.” The record features “Filthy,” a song that should be a Seattle anthem, and “Blood in the Water,” the song that’s currently No. 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay charts ahead
“My sole focus is to make my hometown proud,” Jones wrote in a statement announcing the opening slot on Instagram.
“Saying that it’s an honor to open for Guns N Roses in my hometown would be a massive understatement. I am aware countless bands and artists dream of such an opportunity but never get the chance. Knowing this, I don’t take it for granted.”
