SYML announces new album, releases new song “Careful”

Brian Fennell, aka SYML, is a name that hasn’t been written about on Guerrilla Candy despite his involvement in the local scene for nearly two decades.

Chances are you know SYML for his beautifully written, cinematic songs such as “Where’s My Love” and “Girl.” Those songs helped him become a platinum-selling artist and led the way for his excellent 2023 record “The Day My Father Died.” I’m admittedly a little late to the SYML party, but I’m not late to Fennell’s career. I know him from his former band Barcelona (remember them?) and not his work as SYML.

Today he released the first single off his upcoming third SYML record “Nobody Lives Here.” The record will be released April 4 and to celebrate he will be performing a special acoustic in-store set at Easy Street Records on April 12.

You can pre-order SYML’s upcoming album on his website. Check out the album’s first single “Careful” below.
